Women participated in many hazardous functions during the great industrial war from 1914-1918.
Almost all waring nations had female journalists, ambulance drivers, telephone operators, nurses, and food support. Also, women did the dangerous job of making war machines and munitions. Some nations even had female doctors, and Russia was the only nation that had women deployed as combat troops, “Women’s Battalions.” It was these war effort sacrifices that led several countries to establish full suffrage to women.
